Meet The Training Team
Marleen Duffy – Founder & Lead Instructor
Marleen Duffy is the founder of Medical Reiki International and a highly respected Reiki Master Teacher with over 25 years of Reiki experience and over 15 years teaching all levels of Reiki. Based in Ireland, she has delivered Reiki in hospitals, hospices, and cancer care centers, and now teaches Medical Reiki to students internationally, supporting them in building ethical, clinically aware, and compassionate practices.
​
Her journey into Medical Reiki was profoundly shaped by the late Raven Keyes, a true pioneer in the field. Marleen traveled from Ireland to New York to train with Raven in person, an experience that inspired the founding of Medical Reiki Ireland, with Raven’s blessing and support. As her work expanded globally, Medical Reiki International emerged as the natural progression of that original vision, reflecting its broader international reach and continued commitment to advancing Reiki in healthcare.

Raven was not only a mentor, but also a dear friend. Marleen has felt her absence deeply, they were very close, and she misses her terribly. Still, she remains more determined than ever to carry forward Raven’s vision of bringing professional, compassionate Reiki into medical settings around the world.
​
While Raven’s work remains the deep inspiration behind this path, Marleen continues to honour her legacy with the utmost respect and love. The training offered through Medical Reiki International has been thoughtfully expanded and redesigned to reflect current professional and clinical standards, while remaining rooted in the spirit, values, and sacred intention of Raven’s original teachings

As part of honouring that legacy, all trainees are required to have Raven’s foundational book, Medical Reiki: A Groundbreaking Approach to Using Energy Medicine for Challenging Treatments, which is referenced throughout the training. Marleen is also proud to be mentioned in Raven’s book.
​
In 2020, Marleen launched the Reiki Buddy Scheme, a global volunteer initiative offering free distant Reiki to frontline workers and vulnerable individuals during the COVID-19 crisis. She continued the initiative for over three years, with distant Reiki remaining available, particularly for patients in hospital settings, throughout the program. With over 100 volunteers, it became a symbol of healing, hope, and compassionate support during an unprecedented time.

Through her leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication, Marleen continues to advance the place of Reiki in modern medicine,training the next generation of Medical Reiki practitioners to meet the highest standards of care.

We’re thrilled to welcome Helene to our all-new Medical Reiki Training at Medical Reiki International. This exciting new chapter brings enhanced opportunities for practitioners and students alike and we are honored to introduce a key member of our teaching team
Helene Williams, RN, BSN, Reiki Master/Teacher.
is honored to join Marleen Duffy and Medical Reiki International, bringing her expertise and passion for integrating Reiki into clinical settings. Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, Helene is a bachelor's-prepared registered nurse with over 17 years of experience offering Reiki in various medical settings, including hospitals, chemotherapy infusion centers, pre- and post-operative care, hospice care, addiction treatment centers, and long-term care facilities. She participated in a hospital-based Reiki research study, facilitated a hospital Reiki volunteer program, and currently serves on the board of the Center for Reiki Research.
​
In 2022, Helene had the privilege of meeting Raven Keyes at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. They formed an immediate and meaningful connection through their shared commitment to integrating Reiki into medical environments. Together, they developed plans for Raven to travel to Pennsylvania to lead a RKMRI Medical Reiki Master training in July 2023.
​
Helene was heartbroken to learn of Raven’s unexpected passing in May 2023. She remains profoundly grateful to Marleen Duffy, who stepped in with great compassion to lead the training, in which Helene was a student.
​
Helene is proud to hold the title of RKMRI Medical Reiki Master, and she and Marleen have continued to work closely together, united by their shared passion for advancing the integration of Reiki in healthcare.
​
In the Medical Reiki International training, Helene will provide a unique insider's perspective on how Reiki can support patients, staff, and healthcare systems. She will share invaluable insights, guiding students in navigating entry into healthcare settings, discussing professional practice, communicating effectively with medical professionals, understanding the clinical benefits of Reiki for both patients and staff, and overcoming unique challenges in medical environments. Her instruction will also cover practical topics such as Reiki in chemotherapy infusion suites, safety protocols, documentation, and ethical considerations, providing participants with a well-rounded, real-world foundation to support their path as Medical Reiki practitioners.
