Marleen Duffy, Founder & Lead Instructor
Marleen Duffy is the founder of Medical Reiki International, a Reiki Master Teacher with over 25 years of practice and more than 15 years of teaching experience. Based in Sligo, Ireland, her work is rooted in a passion for care, community and connection, and a commitment to bringing compassionate, professional Reiki into healthcare settings.
In 2009, Marleen left her career in media in Dublin to follow that passion, opening Angel & Gift World in Sligo. For 17 years, it has been a welcoming shop and community space offering holistic therapies, Reiki sessions and training, alongside opportunities for reflection and connection. Creating a place where people feel welcome, supported and able to take time for themselves remains at the heart of her work.
Her experience also includes offering Reiki in hospitals, hospices, cancer support centers and private practice, including six years as a volunteer at Sligo Cancer Support Centre. Together, these years of practice, teaching and community work laid the foundations for Medical Reiki International.
The inspiration to establish the organization came from traveling to New York to train with the late Raven Keyes, who became both a mentor and a dear friend. With Raven’s blessing and support, Marleen founded Medical Reiki Ireland. As its teaching reached students internationally, it grew into Medical Reiki International, a natural development of her longstanding work and the vision Raven had inspired.
Today, Marleen honors Raven’s legacy through an expanded training program that combines Reiki practice with ethical responsibility, clinical awareness and preparation for working respectfully alongside healthcare teams. Raven’s book, Medical Reiki: A Groundbreaking Approach to Using Energy Medicine for Challenging Treatments, remains a foundational resource throughout the training.
Marleen also offers Reiki and well-being retreats in Ireland, creating immersive experiences that bring together Reiki, reflection and connection with the landscape. Through visits to sacred sites and places rich in mythology, she invites participants to explore Ireland’s stories, traditions and mystical energy while taking time for rest, personal reflection and well-being.
Her commitment to community also inspired the Reiki Buddy Program, which she established in 2020. Bringing together over 100 volunteers, the initiative offered free distant Reiki to frontline workers and vulnerable individuals during the pandemic and continued for more than three years.
Known for her warmth and grounded approach, Marleen supports practitioners in developing compassionate, responsible practices. Her aim is to bring the same care and connection that shaped her community work into Reiki education and its role as a complementary support alongside medical treatment.
Helene Williams, RN, BSN, Reiki Master/Teacher
We’re thrilled to have Helene Williams as part of our teaching team at Medical Reiki International. Teaching together has been an amazing experience, and her warmth, clinical experience and passion for Reiki bring so much to our training. It’s a joy to share this work with her as we continue to support and inspire practitioners bringing compassionate Reiki into healthcare settings.

is honored to join Marleen Duffy and Medical Reiki International, bringing her expertise and passion for integrating Reiki into clinical settings. Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, Helene is a bachelor's-prepared registered nurse with over 17 years of experience offering Reiki in various medical settings, including hospitals, chemotherapy infusion centers, pre- and post-operative care, hospice care, addiction treatment centers, and long-term care facilities. She participated in a hospital-based Reiki research study, facilitated a hospital Reiki volunteer program, and currently serves on the board of the Center for Reiki Research.
In 2022, Helene had the privilege of meeting Raven Keyes at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. They formed an immediate and meaningful connection through their shared commitment to integrating Reiki into medical environments. Together, they developed plans for Raven to travel to Pennsylvania to lead a RKMRI Medical Reiki Master training in July 2023.
Helene was heartbroken to learn of Raven’s unexpected passing in May 2023. She remains profoundly grateful to Marleen Duffy, who stepped in with great compassion to lead the training, in which Helene was a student.
Helene is proud to hold the title of RKMRI Medical Reiki Master, and she and Marleen have continued to work closely together, united by their shared passion for advancing the integration of Reiki in healthcare.
In the Medical Reiki International training, Helene will provide a unique insider's perspective on how Reiki can support patients, staff, and healthcare systems. She will share invaluable insights, guiding students in navigating entry into healthcare settings, discussing professional practice, communicating effectively with medical professionals, understanding the clinical benefits of Reiki for both patients and staff, and overcoming unique challenges in medical environments. Her instruction will also cover practical topics such as Reiki in chemotherapy infusion suites, safety protocols, documentation, and ethical considerations, providing participants with a well-rounded, real-world foundation to support their path as Medical Reiki practitioners.

If you have a group interested in completing Medical Reiki training together, we can arrange a dedicated training programme specifically for your group.
For groups of 8 or more, we can provide a private online Medical Reiki training, delivered exclusively to your participants and scheduled around your group's needs.
For groups of 12 or more, we can also offer in-person training at your location. If you are a healthcare organisation, Reiki community, wellbeing centre, training provider, hospital, clinic, retreat centre, or already host professional workshops and educational programmes, we can travel to you and deliver the training within your own venue.
We will work with you to coordinate the dates, format and practical arrangements so that the training is appropriate for your group and setting.
